SEO Resources
Here is some good stuff I found on the internet about SEO and digital marketing. I will keep adding to it.
Tutorials, Reference
Introduction to SEO: This is a good introduction to SEO. Briefly talks about all the basics like submitting a site to search engine, META tags optimization, Content optimization etc.
SEO Checklist: Don’t go on the page design and weird fonts. It’s more like a paper diary scribbled with great SEO resources, from time to time. He mentions 4 types of Google ranking factors (on-page/off-page and positive/negative). A lot of these are speculations, as there always the case in SEO efforts. But it is a good reference to keep with you. If you are an absolute novice, you might not understand some of the terms, as the page contains a lot of technical terms (like Keyword stuffing, Keyword proximity or poison words). In that case, you can refer to SEO dictionary. Once you are acquainted with basics of SEO, keep this reference with you before designing your site.
Google Ranking Factors: This is a survey about Google ranking algorithm and SEO experts talk about most important factors Google considers while creating SERP’s. A very neatly created document. This can be used like a checklist for your SEO efforts.
SEO Fast Start: An ebook(PDF) on SEO. A step-by-step guide to SEO. Pretty good.
Tools
A cool SEO extension for Firefox: This cool tool allows you to quickly calculate keyword density, see Yahoo or Google backlinks, show indexed pages of a site, see Alexa ran, see Meta tags and so on. Very useful.
